Auckland City Mission staff provide professional services to Auckland's most marginalised - the homeless, elderly, families/individuals in crisis, clients with addictions. The Mission employs a wide range of staff who, in some services, provide support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

The Role:
Responsible for the assessment and supervision of clients withdrawing from alcohol and drugs. Responsible for support staff and volunteers. Scope of work includes admission, care and discharge of clients, facilitating groups, and one-on-one work.
The Person:
Qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drug Studies, Social Work or other relevant files. Full NZ drivers license essential with ability to drive a manual car and van. Can be working towards DAPAANZ registration.
The Hours:
Shift work: 7.00am - 3.30pm; 3.00pm - 11.00pm

Alcohol & Other Drug Support worker - Full Time Night Shift
The Role:
This is a sole charge night shift role from 11.00pm - 7.00am. Responsible for up to 10 clients in a residential setting, and ensuring that the service's environmnet meets the required infection control, hazards management and maintenance standards.
The Person:
Must have an understanding of alcohol and other drug treatments especially detoxification.
The Hours:
Shift work: 11.00pm - 7.00am.

General Practitioner - Part Time
The City Mission's medical centre, The Calder Centre, is looking to employ a Part-Time General Practitioner to cover one 8 hour and one 4 hour shift.
This is an excellent opportunity for a medical professional who would like to take on a new challlenge in their career - providing medical services to clients from all walks of life, some of whom present with complex medical, mental health and social issues.
We are seeking a positive, confident, energetic and experienced professional with great people skills.
The environment can be challenging and demanding so you will need to have the ability to work efficiently under pressure, to "think on your feet" and be able to engage well with a wide range of people, including those with challenging behaviours.
This is a pivotal role within the Mission and as well as your great attitude, you will need excellent computer and MedTech 32 skills, be eligible to work in New Zealand and must hold a current New Zealand Practicing Certificate.
The Hours:
Tuesday, 8 hours and Thursday 4 hours.

This is a front line reception position welcoming clients, donors and guests to the Mission and ensuring that people get to the right place. This position is the "face of the Mission" and we are seeking a positive, energetic person with great people skills.
The environment can be challenging and demanding, so you will need to have the ability to work efficiently under pressure and be able to engage with a wide range of people.
This is a pivotal role within the Mission and as well as your great attitude, you will need good computer skills, data entry experience and preferably knowledge of MedTech 32 (although this is not essential).

Alcohol & Other Drug Support Worker - Relief - Weekdays/Weekends
The Role:
Provide support to the duty AOD Professional. ensure that the service's environment meets the required infection control, hazards management and maintenance standards.
The Person:
A full drivers license is essential with the ability to drive a manual car and van. Cooking and hands-on infection control skills are required.
The Hours:
Shifts for the role are 7.00am - 3.30pm; 3.00pm - 11.00pm; 11.00pm - 7.00am.

Relief Support Worker
The Role:
A relief position working with our diverse client groups both at the Mission and in the community. You will enjoy working in a challenging environment and being part of a team committed to serving Auckland's most marginalised people.
We offer the unique opportunity to develop a wide range of support worker skills including specialised intake and assessment for crisis intervention, drug and alcohol addictions and medical services. You will gain experience across a wide variety of social services and associated agencies.
The Person:
Previous mental health/community support experience is preferred and a full driver's license is essential.
