Be someone’s Angel this Christmas.

Help the Mission bring the magic of Christmas to families in need by organising an Auckland’s Angels food and gift collection in your workplace or community.

Last year, thanks to the support of people like you, the Mission gave out 30,000 gifts and 9,000 Christmas food parcels to Aucklanders who would otherwise have gone without. We know that this will be another tough Christmas for many families in our community. If you are in a position to help this year, we would be truly grateful for your support in bringing seasonal joy to families who are struggling.

Will you organise an Auckland’s Angel collection this Christmas?

With so much uncertainty about when we’ll be able to get together again in our workplaces and communities, we’ve got three easy options for Auckland’s Angels this year:

  •  If you and your colleagues are in your workplace next month or your organisation can meet up, please collect Christmas gifts and food as normal. We will provide you with all the information you need to promote and run your drive. One of our drivers can pick up your collection or you can drop it off at our Distribution Centre.
  • For staff who are still working from home or if your organisation is unable to meet up in person, you can still encourage people to take part in Auckland’s Angels by ordering gifts online for delivery direct to our Distribution Centre. In your online catch ups, inspire each other by suggesting ideas for gifts to buy and encourage everyone to get involved if they can.
  • Alternatively, you can set up an Auckland’s Angels online donation page for your organisation and encourage people to jump online to make a donation which will help the Mission buy Christmas gifts for Aucklanders in need.

Our downloadable Auckland’s Angels guide has all the information you need to take part this year.

***We encourage you to run your collection as early as possible so that we have enough time to sort and pack the food and gifts ready for distribution from mid-December.  If you would like one of our drivers to pick up your collection, please finish your collection on or before Friday 10 December – our drivers will be doing final pick ups in the week of 13-17 December.  When you have confirmed your closing date, please email us on [email protected] and we will be in touch to arrange a suitable pick up time.

If you are able to drop your collection at our Distribution Centre in Grafton, we are accepting Christmas drop-offs until Friday 17 December.  The Distribution Centre is situated at 15 Auburn Street and is open from 9am-3pm Monday – Saturday.***

    Frequently Asked Questions

What items is the Mission collecting?

We are collecting non-perishable food items (e.g. tinned vegetables, rice & cereal), Christmas treats (e.g. chocolate & mince pies) and new, unwrapped Christmas gifts for children and teenagers. We are also grateful for donations of wrapping paper and tape. For more suggestions, see the Auckland’s Angels information guide.

Can we donate good quality, used items for Christmas presents?

No. We don't give used items at Christmas gifts. Quite often this is the only present a child is receiving so we want to make sure they receive something that's just for them and not pre-loved.

    Should we wrap our gifts?

Please don’t - we ask for all gifts to be unwrapped so we can be sure they are safe and new. We have a group of volunteers who will wrap them and ensure they are age appropriate. However, we are always grateful for donations of wrapping paper and tape.

    Do you have any boxes?

You will need to provide your own boxes - you can ask for cardboard boxes from your local supermarket. The size of a banana box or smaller is recommended. Please remember, if you can't lift it, neither can we!

When will my collection be picked up?

Our drivers will pick up Auckland’s Angels Christmas collections in the last two weeks of November (alert levels allowing). A Mission team member will be in touch to arrange a suitable time for pick up.

Can I drop off my collection to the Mission?

Yes please. We are very grateful if you can drop your collection to our Distribution Centre (15 Auburn Street, Grafton) as this reduces the pressure on our drivers at this very busy time.

Why are you picking up the collections so early?

We start distributing Christmas gifts and food parcels in mid-December and we need time to sort the gifts and pack the food parcels before then. Our drivers are always really busy in December. If you'd like to extend your collection into December, you're welcome to drop off your collection to our Distribution Centre.

My colleagues and I will still be working from home. How can we be part of Auckland’s Angels?

We have two easy alternatives for anyone who is unable to contribute to a food and gift collection in the workplace: • Order gifts online for delivery direct to the Mission’s Distribution Centre (15 Auburn Street, Grafton). - Set up an Auckland’s Angels online donations page at , where you and your colleagues can contribute to buying Christmas food and gifts for Aucklanders in need.
