Be someone’s Angel this Christmas.
Help the Mission bring the magic of Christmas to families in need by organising an Auckland’s Angels food and gift collection in your workplace or community.
Last year, thanks to the support of people like you, the Mission gave out 36,000 gifts to tamariki and 10,930 Christmas food parcels to Aucklanders who would otherwise have gone without. As the cost of living crisis deepens, we know that this will be another tough Christmas for many families in our community.
It’s easy to make a difference and be someone’s Angel this Christmas.
- Organise a food and gift collection
Thanks to everyone who has taken part in Auckland’s Angels this year. Registrations for this year have now closed, however we are still accepting donations of Christmas food and gifts. These can be dropped off at our Distribution Centre (15 Auburn Street, Grafton) on Monday – Saturday from 9am-3pm until 23 December. See the Resource section below for a list of suggested donations. - Set up an Auckland’s Angel online donation page
Set up an online donations page, where you and your workmates can contribute to buying Christmas gifts for tamariki. This is a great option for sharing with staff working from home, suppliers and customers, and an easy alternative to a physical gift collection. You can even set up gift-matching on your page, where you employer matches all donations made. Set up your page here. - Order gifts online
Alternatively, you could order gifts online for delivery direct to the Mission’s Distribution Centre. Please address all deliveries to Auckland’s Angels, Auckland City Mission Distribution Centre, 15 Auburn Street, Grafton 1023.
All you need to know
We are collecting non-perishable food items (e.g. tinned vegetables, rice & cereal), Christmas treats (e.g. chocolate & mince pies) and new, unwrapped Christmas gifts for children and teenagers. We are also grateful for donations of wrapping paper and tape. For more suggestions, see the Auckland’s Angels information guide.
No. We don't give used items at Christmas gifts. Quite often this is the only present a child is receiving so we want to make sure they receive something that's just for them and not pre-loved.
Please don’t - we ask for all gifts to be unwrapped so we can be sure they are safe and new. We have a group of volunteers who will wrap them and ensure they are age appropriate. However, we are always grateful for donations of wrapping paper and tape.
You will need to provide your own boxes - you can ask for cardboard boxes from your local supermarket. The size of a banana box or smaller is recommended. Please remember, if you can't lift it, neither can we!
Our drivers will pick up Auckland’s Angels Christmas collections between 21 November and 9 December. A Mission team member will be in touch to arrange a suitable time for pick up.
Yes please. We are very grateful if you can drop your collection to our Distribution Centre (15 Auburn Street, Grafton) as this reduces the pressure on our drivers at this very busy time. We encourage you to drop off your donations by 17 December.
We start distributing Christmas gifts and food parcels in mid-December and we need time to sort the gifts and pack the food parcels before then. Our drivers are always really busy in December. If you'd like to extend your collection into December, you're welcome to drop off your collection to our Distribution Centre.
All online donations over $5 through your Auckland’s Angels page will automatically be receipted by email. If you haven’t got your receipt, please contact us on [email protected]
Please get in touch with our team on [email protected] to set up gift matching.
