The Cook Off

16th June 2025 5:00pm

On Monday 16 June at St Matthew-in-the-City Church, under the guidance of talented chefs, senior business leaders will come together to prepare a delicious three-course meal for 150 Mission guests — many of whom are experiencing homelessness, complex health issues, or the daily struggle to put food on the table.

It will be a special night that’s about more than just a meal — it’s about community, care, and connection.

In The Cook Off, each business leader has taken on the challenge of raising at least $10,000 towards our collective goal of $250,000. This is the equivalent of providing 15,625 meals for people accessing Haeata over the winter months.

The Mission’s community dining room, Haeata, has seen year-on-year increases in demand, serving over 84,000 meals in 2024 to people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Currently, Haeata provides around 300 hot and nourishing meals every day — and for many, it’s the only meal they’ll have that day.

Your support can make a real difference this winter. Will you help our participants reach the goal — and help nourish our community?
