The Big Mission Home

Dust off your walking shoes and join us on Saturday 23 March 2024 for our new fundraising challenge – The Big Mission Home.

Every day, people sleeping rough in Auckland walk as far as 17 kilometres, rain or shine, to access the basics like food, a safe place to sleep, medical help and somewhere to wash. That’s not easy.

The Big Mission Home is a 17 kilometre sponsored walk to raise vital funds to support people experiencing homelessness and poverty. When you sign up for The Big Mission Home, you’ll be joining a community of Aucklanders who believe our city should be one where everyone has easy access to the things they need – and one where everyone thrives.

The finish line of this challenge is the Mission’s flagship HomeGround building in central Auckland, but where you start and the route you take is up to you! Fly solo or work in a team – however you choose to get there, you’ll be helping to provide practical support, a welcoming community and hope for Aucklanders in greatest need.

Find out more (including suggested routes) and register at The Big Mission Home.

Places are limited so get in quick!

Feed It Forward

Feed It Forward for Aucklanders in need by organising a food drive in your workplace, school, church or community group.

We really appreciate donations of non-perishable food (including canned vegetables, pasta, breakfast cereals) and toiletries (such as toothbrushes, shampoo and feminine hygiene products).

You can organise a Feed It Forward food drive at any time of year.

Register here.

We have a range of free resources to help make your collection a success. The Community team will share these with you once they’re received your registration.

Ditch the gifts

Birthdays, weddings and other celebrations are great ways to share the love by asking for donations instead of gifts.

If you’d like to register to donate your birthday, please email [email protected]
