Questions?

We welcome volunteers who can commit to regular, ongoing support, rather than one-off shifts. This helps you understand our systems and processes while building and strengthening relationships with staff and whānau over time.

Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over. We do allow volunteers 16 and over with Donation Sorting at our retail stores- please email [email protected] for details.

If you’d like to help at Christmas — one of our busiest and most special times of the year — please email [email protected] to register your interest.

If you have a skill that you think would be valuable to us and you would like to volunteer your time, please get in touch [email protected]

Your application is reviewed by our Volunteer Coordinator, and we will be in touch within a week of you applying - check your junk mail. Once confirmed, you’ll be asked to complete an online induction before your first shift. You’ll get a shift confirmation which tells you where to come and what to bring. Your service manager will meet you on the first day with specific role and task information.

You’ll be in a friendly, team environment wherever you volunteer in the Mission. You can roster yourself on at times and days which suit you – and you will likely be working with different people on different days. Some roles work directly with people coming to the Mission for support with housing, food and healthcare, whereas others are behind the scenes. Either way, there’s always plenty to do and a lively buzz.
