Helping Aucklanders
in Desperate need

Volunteer

Volunteering

The Mission utilises the support of more than 4,000 volunteers every year. We simply could not run our services without the help of our wonderful volunteers and we are extremely grateful for any time spared to help us support people in desperate need.

Group Volunteers – Corporate or Community

Hundreds of people volunteer at the Mission every year as part of a corporate or community group. Group volunteers are most often engaged in packing emergency food parcels for struggling families, or sorting donated clothing and household items.

Both of these activities take place at our Distribution Centre in Grafton.

Please note: All volunteers must be over 18 years of age. Opportunities do not generally exist for group volunteers to work directly with clients.

To schedule your group of 3-20 people to volunteer at the Mission’s Distribution Centre, please email your details to the fundraising team.

Individual volunteering

Thank you very much for your interest in volunteering at the Auckland City Mission.  Your offer of support and assistance is much appreciated.

The high level of support we receive means we do not always have vacancies for volunteers, and indeed that is the case at present.  We will advertise future volunteering opportunities here on www.aucklandcitymission.org.nz

Volunteer Shop Assistants wanted!

Volunteer Shop Assistants needed for Grafton (Auburn St), Glen Innes and our soon to be opened K Rd Op Shop.  We are open between 9 and 6 so any time you can spare would be greatly appreciated!

For more information contact Claudia Arcos at claudia.a@aucklandcitymission.org.nz

Street Appeal Volunteers

Our annual Street Appeal is happening this year on Friday the 30th of November and Saturday the 1st of December. We will be collecting at sites around Auckland on these dates. We are looking for volunteers to be involved and help raise funds for vulnerable Aucklanders.

Please email our fundraising team here if you’re interested.
