Each year we engage hundreds of volunteers at the Mission as part of a corporate, community or whanau group. We NEED help year round in both our Distribution and Haeata Community Centre. 

Helping hands in our Distribution Centre. 

Our distribution centre is located in Grafton. Group volunteers most often participate in packing emergency food parcels for struggling families, or sorting donated clothing and household items

Lunch Preparation Crew

Group volunteers will work alongside our chef to help make sandwiches, salads and prepare packed lunches for our daily take away meal service. This opportunity is based in our Haeata Community kitchen, onsite at 23 Union St, CBD. Volunteers will, make food, pack and label food in preparation for distribution to our Homeless Community and helping to clean up and pack down at the end of the shift.

Our individual roles are suited to people who can volunteer on an ongoing basis. These roles require training and resources.         

Breakfast Service 

We offer a dine in hearty breakfast meal to the homeless community 7 days a week. We need 5 volunteers 7 days a week. We are looking for team members who can give their time on a regular weekly or fortnightly basis.  

Shift one: 7.00am – 11.00am | Shift two: 8.00am – 12.00pm.  

Retail Assistants

We are looking for warm, friendly and reliable volunteers to lend us a hand in our stores to sort, organise, tidy, display and sell recycled clothing, furniture, household items, books, toys and more. 

Distribution Assistants

We are looking for volunteers to assist in our warehouse tasks include: packing food parcels for families and individuals in need | sorting donated clothing, furniture and household items and more. 

*Same volunteer times as outlined above (Group Volunteers) 

Drivers – Social Detox

We are looking for fully licenced drivers to drive our clients to their meetings every week. The detox centre is located in Avondale
