Tīpene Funerals volunteering at Haeata, Auckland City Mission

Thank you Auckland for lending us your helping hands – we are grateful for your help and know we can count on you! Volunteers give us the gift of their time and are an integral part of our work.

 

INDIVIDUAL OPPORTUNITIES:

Retail – Op Shops (Good Stuff – Symonds St./ K’Road/Glenn Innes) – Individuals

Got a knack for fashion? Love digging for hidden treasures? Work alongside our fun and funky team to help sort clothes, display and rotate goods for sale,  maintain a clean and tidy store,  operate the cash register, assist with any other tasks as required. (Days and shifts by negotiation)

Food Service Assistant (Boston Road, Grafton) – Individuals

Monday – Friday – (2 Shifts) 9.00am – 12.00pm & 12.30pm to 3.30pm

Activities include packing food parcels, picking orders for clients, stocking shelves, tidying and organising workstations and areas, light gardening and maintenance, breaking down of boxes. Reasonable level of physical fitness required, some heavy lifting up to 20kgs.

Donation Sorting (Symonds Street, Upper CBD) – Individuals

Tuesday – Saturday (2 Shifts) 9.00am – 12.00pm & 12.00pm to 3.00pm

Work in our newest retail space and sorting centre on Symonds Street to help sort and prepare donated clothing and household  for people in need and distribution to our op shops, you may also be required to steam and hang clothing, ticket items and sort other in kind donations.

Breakfast Service (Hobson Street, CBD) – Individuals

Monday – Sunday –  7.30am – 11.00am

You will be preparing food for serving, food service, general kitchen duties such as dishes and cleaning before, during and after service. stacking of shelves, topping up supplies, maintaining cleanliness in the dining room and back of house areas during service.

Individual Registrations – Members of the public looking to volunteer on an ongoing basis

** The minimum volunteer requirement for individuals is a commitment of 2 shifts per month for 6 months.

 

GROUP OPPORTUNITIES:

Donation Sorting (Symonds Street, Upper CBD) – Groups of up to 4

Tuesday – Saturday (2 Shifts) 9.00am – 12.00pm & 12.00pm to 3.00pm

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 10am – 2.30pm (Finish time negotiable, minimum 3 hours)

Assisting the food service team to pack food parcels, stocking shelves, stock rotation, general warehouse duties.

Food Service Assistant (Boston Road, Grafton) – Groups of 5 – 7

Monday – Friday – (2 Shifts) 9.00am – 12.00pm & 12.30pm to 3.30pm

**There are no Christmas day opportunities available at this stage.
