Together, donations become meals on tables, clothes on backs, and hope for people doing it tough.
One in five Auckland families is struggling to put food on the table.
With your help, we distributed nearly 40,000 food parcels in 2024—but the need remains high. By donating food, hygiene items, clothing or household goods, you can make a direct, tangible difference for people across Tāmaki Makaurau.
Food and toiletries
What we need
We’re grateful for donations of non-perishable food and essential hygiene products. What we need:
- Canned fish
- Canned vegetables (e.g. green beans, corn, tomatoes)
- Canned fruit
- Spreads (e.g. Marmite, peanut butter)
- Rice and pasta
- Shampoo & conditioner
- Toothpaste & toothbrushes
- Feminine hygiene products
- Soap & moisturiser

Please note: we can’t accept cooked or perishable food, all items must be within their best-before or use-by date. If possible, call ahead before dropping off donations .

What we accept
We are open to furniture donations but have limited space available. To book a free collection, please complete this form. We are now taking electronics, but no whiteware. We gratefully accept clean, good-quality items, including:
- Clothing and shoes
- Books and DVD
- Bric-a-brac and kitchenware
- Small household goods

Please drop off your good quality donations to our Retail Depot at , behind our Good Stuff store. We accept all clothing, books, DVDs, bric-a-brac and household goods. They must be in a good, reusable and clean condition.
Your donations at work
Every item you give carries care — a reminder that no one in our city is forgotten. A simple can of food can mean a family sharing dinner together. A warm jacket can bring comfort on a cold night. Each donation, whether food, clothing or household goods, helps restore dignity and hope for people finding their feet again. Food donations are shared through our food bank, while clothing and goods sold in our Mission Shops help fund the services that change lives every day. Together, these gifts create a community woven with compassion.

Edward
Edward’s own childhood was tough : “Growing up wasn't so easy. I came from a broken family. I was out on the street at 12.” He spent much of his youth in and out of institutions – state care, psychiatric wards and prison: “I was in boys’ homes from the age of 14, because my mum wasn’t looking after us. It wasn’t her fault – after she died, I found out her story, how much of a bad, hard life she had. That’s when I understood.”
Now a father himself, Edward is determined to give his children a different upbringing – with stability, opportunities and love. But it hasn’t been easy. Chronic health issues, the trauma he carries from his youth and limited schooling mean he’s unable to work. “It makes me sad sometimes because I want the best for them.”
