A header of everyday Auckland's Christmas Angels

Be someone’s Angel this Christmas.

Help the Mission bring the magic of Christmas to families in need by organising an Auckland’s Angels food and gift collection in your workplace or community.

Last year, thanks to the support of people like you, the Mission gave out 40,000 gifts to tamariki and 10,000 Christmas food parcels to Aucklanders who would otherwise have gone without. As the cost of living crisis deepens, we know that this will be another tough Christmas for many families in our community.

It’s easy to make a difference and be someone’s Angel this Christmas.

  • Organise a food and gift collection
Register using the form below and we will provide you with all the information you need to promote and run your collection. You can drop off your collection at our Hobson Street entrance of HomeGround between 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday until Fri 22nd Dec.  (We have two carparks next to our building in the Wilson’s carpark next door), or at any one of the Auckland Council libraries, pools or recreation centres until Mon 18th Dec.  Please email us: [email protected] if you need further help.
  • Set up an Auckland’s Angel online donation page
Set up an online donations page, where you and your workmates can contribute to buying Christmas gifts for tamariki. This is a great option for sharing with staff working from home, suppliers and customers, and an easy alternative to a physical gift collection. You can even set up gift-matching on your page, where you employer matches all donations made. Set up your page here.
  • Order gifts online
Alternatively, you could order gifts online for delivery direct to the Mission at 140 Hobson Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010. Please address all deliveries to Auckland’s Angels.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    FAQ

What items is the Mission collecting?

We are collecting non-perishable food items (e.g. tinned vegetables, rice & cereal), Christmas treats (e.g. chocolate & mince pies) and new, unwrapped Christmas gifts for children and teenagers - no clothing or toys with batteries please. We are also grateful for donations of wrapping paper and tape. For more suggestions, see the Auckland’s Angels information guide.

Can we donate good quality, used items for Christmas presents?

No. We don't give used items at Christmas gifts. Quite often this is the only present a child is receiving so we want to make sure they receive something that's just for them and not pre-loved.

    Should we wrap our gifts?

We ask for all gifts to be unwrapped so we can be sure they are safe and new. We have a group of volunteers who will wrap them and ensure they are age appropriate. However, we are always grateful for donations of wrapping paper and tape.

    Do you have any boxes?

You will need to provide your own boxes - you can ask for cardboard boxes from your local supermarket. The size of a banana box or smaller is recommended. Please remember, if you can't lift it, neither can we! We also encourage you to decorate your boxes with our posters or other Christmas resources, which you can below.

When will my collection be picked up?

Our drivers will pick up Auckland’s Angels Christmas collections end of November, early December. A Mission team member will be in touch to arrange a suitable time for pick up.

Can I drop off my collection to the Mission?

Yes please. We are very grateful if you can drop your collection – as this reduces the pressure on our drivers at this very busy time. We encourage you to drop off your donations by the 9th of December.

Why are you picking up the collections so early?

We start distributing Christmas gifts and food parcels in mid-December and we need time to sort the gifts and pack the food parcels before then. Our drivers are always really busy in December.

Will we get a receipt if we donate online?

All online donations over $5 through your Auckland’s Angels page will automatically be receipted by email. If you haven’t got your receipt, please contact us on [email protected]

How do we set up gift matching on our online fundraising page?

Please get in touch with our team on [email protected] to set up gift matching.
