Fill The Blues Bus

The Auckland City Mission needs at least 30,000 gifts to share for youngsters and families who will otherwise go without at Christmas. And the foodbank for Christmas is in urgent need of refilling, or many will go hungry over the Festive Season.

With the help of Mai FM and its whole community, the Blues hope to “Fill The Blues Bus” for the Auckland City Mission Christmas Appeal.

On Thursday 2 December the Blues Bus will follow the Blue Brick Road around Auckland to collect donated food parcels and gifts.

“Partnering with the Auckland City Mission, Mai FM and our wider Blues community to support families who have struggled due to COVID is important to us. The Mission is truly grateful to have the support of the Blues this Christmas, and filling the Blues Bus is a great way to bring our community together behind two iconic Auckland institutions. The Mission is currently supporting more people and families than ever before and we couldn’t do it without the generosity of Aucklanders.  Every donation from the Blues community will bring some Christmas magic to families who need it most – because everybody deserves a Christmas Day,” said Auckland City Missioner Helen Robinson.

“We appreciate that 2021 has been hard for many, but we hope that if you are in a position to support, please help by either donating unwrapped gifts for young people from 5 to 16 years, or non-perishable food items for families,” said Blues CEO, Andrew Hore.

“If you are unable to gift goods, please make a donation through the Auckland Angels donation page.”

Drop-off locations have been made available for communities to be a part of this appeal, and are accessible from Monday 29 November. Check out the Blues website for drop-off locations.
